Abstract
Natural language processing (NLP) is the technology that enables machine to process human language. Entity recognition is one of the most basic tasks in NLP. It aims to identify and classify the name of each object in the text. Traditional named entity recognition systems can only identify a small set of types such as person, location, organization or miscellaneous. In order to make machine exploit the meaning of the text better, it is necessary to classify the entities appearing in the text to fine-grained types. ...

Abstract
We describe an effective algorithm to determine the maximal class-c quotient (or the maximal commutative class-c quotient) of a finitely presented associative algebra over an arbitrary field. As application, we investigate the relatively free d-generator algebras satisfying the identity xn = 0. In particular, we consider the identity x3 = 0 and the cases (d, n) = (2, 4) and (d, n) = (2, 5). ...

Abstract
Various uncertainty metrics have been applicable to measure reliability under aleatory uncertainty and epistemic uncertainty, including evidence-theory-based reliability, interval-analysis-based reliability, fuzzy-interval-analysis-based reliability, posbist reliability and belief reliability. Difficulties arise, however, when an attempt is made to solve one specific situation by implementing one of these methods since the evaluating results may be different from each other. It is unconvinced to choose one method merely based on the qualitative analysis. Therefore, this paper proposes an optimal evaluation model to conduct an objective evaluation on these metrics and provide reasonable decision-making proposals. ...

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an alternative solution model to estimate the coefficients of large-scaled linear and nonlinear real-life problems due to the fact that least squares and least median squares parameter estimators have some drawbacks when including so many input variables or increased size of the real-world problems. The study presents a hierarchical soft computing model (SOFTC) that consists of three stages. The first stage constitutes a real-valued breeder genetic algorithm (RVBGA). ...

Abstract
In collaborative logistics network, all task demands are centralized by logistics platform for resource allocation, and then resource owners execute discretely under final plan. The key point of this study is to effectively balance the different appeals of stakeholders. In this paper, a bi-level programming model is presented to solve multi-deport LRP considered the constraint of hard time window, vehicle capacity and vehicle backhaul cost, which aims at achieving the effective interest coordination between upper layer platform and lower layer vehicle owners. ...

Abstract
Over the past few years, the world economy is still in a profound adjustment stage after financial crisis, and it will continue to maintain a “New Mediocre” situation. It is clear that multiple risk factors, such as the issue of Brexit and European refugees, will increase the uncertainty of world economy growth. Under such economic development condition, it is obvious that the development of commercial bank will face a challenge; especially, the development of off-balance sheet business has received more attention from the commercial bank. Therefore, the counterparty credit risk has been brought into focus by the government and regulatory authority. ...

Abstract
In group decision-making (GDM) model, experts often evaluate their opinion by using triangular fuzzy numbers. The preference relations with triangular fuzzy numbers are in consistent in nature, so we turned to neutrosophic in this paper. It is very important to take into account consistency of expert opinion and consensus degree in GDM. In order to distinguish the typical consistency, the concept of additive approximation consistency is proposed for triangular neutrosophic additive reciprocal matrices. ...

Abstract
Most supervised classification algorithms produce a soft score (either a probability, a fuzzy degree, a possibility, a cost, etc.) assessing the strength of the association between items and classes. After that, each item is assigned to the class with the highest soft score. In this paper, we show that this last step can be improved through alternative procedures more sensible to the available soft information. ...

Abstract
The essential protein is very important for understanding cellular critical activities and development. With the development of high throughput technology, how to identify the essential proteins from the protein interaction network has become a hot research topic in proteomics. A series of prediction methods have been proposed to infer the possibility of proteins to be essential by using the network topology. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an efficient method to detect the essential proteins considering both network topology and the biological attribute information. ...

Abstract
The recent literature indicates that structure preserving is of great importance for feature selection and many existing selection criteria essentially work in this way. In this paper, we argue that the Eigen value decomposition of global pair wise similarity matrix should be weighted, and the redundancy among the features should be minimized. In order to show this, we propose a weighted structure preservation and features redundancy minimization framework for feature selection. ...

Abstract
Personalized recommender systems are the most effective way to solve the problem of information overload. The majority of traditional personalized recommender systems employ the collaborative filtering (CF) approach. CF leverages users’ behaviors to infer a target user’s preference for a particular item, while ignores the fact that users interact with the system within a particular context, such as a particular time interval or location. In this paper, we propose a novel time-sensitive personalized recommendation method called TSPR for movie recommendation. ...

Abstract
Semi-supervised support vector machine is a popular method in the research area of machine learning. Considering a large amount of unlabeled data points in real-life world, the semi-supervised support machine has the ability of good generalization for dealing with nonlinear classification problems. In this paper, a proximal quadratic surface support vector machine model is proposed for semi-supervised binary classification. The main advantage of our new model is that the proximal quadratic surfaces are constructed directly for nonlinear classification instead of using the kernel function ...

The house prices in China have been growing nearly twice as fast as national income over the last decade. Such an irrational soaring of house prices, not only puts the Chinese economy in danger, but also the country’s social interconnectedness and stability are at risk. Under this background, assuming that the affordable level of house prices from a consumer perspective is an uncertain parameter, which can be modelled, respectively, as symmetric and asymmetric triangular fuzzy number, several types of fuzzy linear regression models are introduced. ...

Abstract
Type-2 fuzzy systems have been investigated as an alternative formalism to deal with uncertainty when the classic Type-1 fuzzy systems do not offer the suitable flexibility for the representation of the information being modeled. The higher flexibility in representation comes with a higher complexity in the system modeling, mainly in the design of the Type-2 fuzzy sets and in the definition of the inference engine parameters. In this paper, we focus on the Type-2 fuzzy systems design, proposing a multi-objective evolutionary approach for tuning the Type-2 inference engine of a fuzzy rule-based classification system by means of automatically choosing the t-norm used in the inference process. ...

Abstract
The problem of determining a set of real-time tasks that can be assigned to the multiprocessors and finding a feasible solution of scheduling these tasks among the multiprocessors is a challenging issue and known to be NP-complete. Many applications today require extensive computing power than traditional uniprocessors can offer. Parallel processing provides a cost-effective solution to this problem by increasing the number of CPUs by adding an efficient communication system between them which results much higher computing power to solve compute-intensive problems. ...

Abstract
Traditional statistical language model is a probability distribution over sequences of words. It has the problem of curse of dimensionality incurred by the exponentially increasing number of possible sequences of words in training text. To solve this issue, neural network language models are proposed by representing words in a distributed way. Due to computation cost on updating a large number of word vectors’ gradients, neural network model needs much training time to converge. To alleviate this problem, in this paper, we propose a gradient descent algorithm based on stochastic conjugate gradient to accelerate the convergence of the neural network’s parameters. ...

Power system state estimation is the important module in monitoring the power system network. The state estimator provides states of the power system by processing the measurements placed optimally across the power system network. However, temporary un-observability may occur due to unexpected loss of measurement devices or communication links. In the present paper, the reliability of the static state estimation has been tested under three different scenarios, viz. over-determined, critically determined ...

Abstract
Differently from most existing studies either directly eliminating redundant WiFi APs with trivial importance or adopting unsupervised dimension reduction methods, e.g. principal component analysis (PCA), this paper employs a supervised approach to take the full advantage of the information available for building radio maps, i.e. location labels attached to fingerprints, to compress original radio maps. Specifically, in the offline phase, the supervised kernel PCA (SKPCA) method is employed to derive a nonlinear and optimal embedding in a low-dimensional subspace ...

Abstract
Social network modelling offers an important computational mechanism for analysis of complex system behaviour. Social networks can be established by linking individuals based on observations of certain activities like physical proximity, by exploiting spatiotemporal data streams that have been acquired. A potentially powerful approach to building such networks is to computationally imitate the real-world foraging process of great tits, where the data streams required consist of the times and locations each tit of a certain population has appeared at. ...

Abstract
Hashing learning has attracted increasing attention these years with the explosive increase in data volume. Most existing hashing learning methods can be divided into two stages. Firstly, obtain low-dimensional representation of the original data. Secondly, quantize the low-dimensional representation of each sample and map them to binary codes. This two-stage hashing framework separates projection operation and quantization operation apart, and the original data structure cannot be well preserved after this kind of two-stage operation. ...

Abstract
In this paper, we present an effective and efficient Byzantine-resilient dual membership management technique in cloud environments, in which nodes are prone to churn and the network topology is not fully connected. Our method is based on unstructured message communication model, namely a gossip protocol that is able to handle the dynamic behavior of nodes properly in the system. We argue that due to the presence of malicious Byzantine nodes, existing membership management mechanisms are not suitable for preserving uniformity of random sampling. ...

Magnetic refrigeration (MR) combines many unique features such as low cost, high efficiency and environmental friendliness which make it preferred to the conventional gas compression system of refrigeration. MR employs manganite-based material due to its high magnetocaloric effect as well as tunable Curie temperature ( TC ). For effective utilization of this technology, TC of manganite refrigerant needs to be tuned to ambient room temperature. ...

Abstract
In general, when block codes are defined, the used alphabet is not binary. It is used an alphabet with n elements, n=2, identified usually with the set An={0,1,2,…,n-1} . Recently, some papers were devoted to the study of the connections between binary block codes and BCK-algebras. These codes are called n-ary block codes. In this paper, we try to generalize these results to n-ary block codes, providing an algorithm which allows us to construct a BCK-algebra from a given n-ary block code. ...

Abstract
This paper mainly addresses the connection between fuzzy rough sets and lattices. Based on a complete lattice equipped with a t-norm, the concepts of TL-fuzzy lower and upper rough approximation operators induced by an L-fuzzy set on a lattice are introduced, and their basic properties are investigated. Particularly, some characterizations of TL-fuzzy ideals on distributive lattices are developed in terms of the TL-fuzzy rough approximation operators. In addition, we use these operators to define a new class of fuzzy structures, called TL-fuzzy quasi-rough ideals induced by an L-fuzzy set on a lattice, and investigate the relationships among TL-fuzzy ideals, TL-fuzzy rough ideals and TL-fuzzy quasi-rough ideals on a given lattice. ...

Abstract
This paper proposes a new stopping criterion for decomposition-based multi-objective evolutionary algorithms (MOEA/Ds) to reduce the unnecessary usage of computational resource. In MOEA/D, a multi-objective problem is decomposed into a number of single-objective subproblems using a Tchebycheff decomposition approach. Then, optimal Pareto front (PF) is obtained by optimizing the Tchebycheff objective of all the subproblems. The proposed stopping criterion monitors the variations of Tchebycheff objective at every generation using maximum Tchebycheff objective error (MTOE) of all the subproblems and stops the algorithm, when there is no significant improvement in MTOE. ?2 test is used for statistically verifying the significant changes of MTOE for every ? generations. ...

Abstract
Automatic video analysis is a hot research topic in the field of computer vision and has broad application prospects. It usually consists of three key steps: object detection, object tracking and behavior recognition. Usually, object detection is just considered as the precondition of object tracking, and the correlation between them is very little. So, existing video analysis solutions treat them as independent procedures and execute them separately. Actually, object detection and tracking are related and the effective combination of them can improve the performance of video analysis. ...

Abstract
In evolutionary multi-objective optimization, achieving a balance between convergence speed and population diversity remains a challenging topic especially for many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs). To accelerate convergence toward the Pareto front and maintain a high degree of diversity for MaOPs, we propose a new many-objective dynamical evolutionary algorithm based on E-dominance and adaptive-grid strategies (EDAGEA). In EDAGEA, it incorporates the E_dominance and adaptive strategies to enhance the search ability. Instead of the Pareto dominance mechanism in the traditional dynamical evolutionary algorithm, EDAGEA employs the E-dominance strategy to improve the selective pressure and to accelerate the convergence speed. ...

Abstract
Card-based cryptographic protocols can perform secure computation of Boolean functions. In 2013, Cheung et al. presented a protocol that securely produces a hidden AND value using five cards; however, it fails with a probability of 1/2. The protocol uses an unconventional shuffle operation called an unequal division shuffle; after a sequence of five cards is divided into a two-card portion and a three-card portion, these two portions are randomly switched so that nobody knows which is which. ...

Abstract
Density peaks clustering (DPC) algorithm is able to get a satisfactory result with the help of artificial selecting the clustering centers, but such selection can be hard for a large amount of clustering tasks or the data set with a complex decision diagram. The purpose of this paper is to propose an automatic clustering approach without human intervention. Inspired by the visual selection rule of DPC, the judgment index which equals the lower value within density and distance (after normalization) is proposed for selecting the clustering centers. ...

Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel K+ -isomorphism method to achieve K-anonymization state among subgraphs or detected communities in a given social network. Our proposed K+ -isomorphism method firstly partitions the subgraphs we have detected into some similar-subgraph clusters followed by graph modification conducted in every cluster. In this way, it is feasible to publish preserved structures of communities or subgraphs and every preserved structure actually represents a cluster of at least K subgraphs or communities which are isomorphic to each other. ...

Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image detection algorithm based on the de-noising algorithm via the sparse representation and a new morphology edge detector. Firstly, we apply the Shearlet transform to the SAR image to get the sparse representation of it. Then, morphological edge detector with direction is applied to directional sub-band coefficients of the Shearlet which are recovered by the iterative de-noising process. Finally, the completed SAR image edge is obtained by merging each sub-band edge using Dempster–Shafer evidence theory. ...

Abstract
Interval-valued fuzzy sets were introduced in 1970s as an extension of Zadeh’s fuzzy sets. For interval-valued fuzzy events, (IV-events for short) IV-probability theory has been developed. In this paper, we prove central limit theorems for triangular arrays of IV-observables within this theory. We prove the Lindeberg CLT and the Lyapunov CLT, assuming that IV-observables are not necessary identically distributed. We also prove the Feller theorem for null arrays of IV-observables. ...

We show that the class of algebras canonically associated (in the sense of Abstract Algebraic Logic) with this logic is the variety of distributive nearlattices. We also present several properties of this sentential logic. ...

Abstract
Since interval numbers are used to evaluate the opinions of decision makers and express the weights of alternatives in various decision making problems, it is requisite to give a feasible method to rank them. In the present paper, the two existing possibility degree formulae for ranking interval numbers are proved to be equivalent. A generalized possibility degree formula is proposed by considering the attitude of decision makers with a prescribed function. Some known possibility degree formulae for ranking interval numbers can be recovered by choosing a special function. ...

Abstract
Although particle swarm optimization (PSO) has successfully applied on many global optimization problems, it is prone to premature convergence due to its monotonic and static learning pattern for all individuals. Furthermore, few purposeful operator is proposed to help population jump out of potential local optimum. To address the drawbacks and improve the comprehensive performance of PSO, we propose a sophisticated PSO (SopPSO) based on multi-level adaptation and purposeful detection. ...

Abstract
Trading is a mutually agreeable process. Buyers hope that they can buy their favorite goods or services through trading, and merchants hope that they can obtain a reasonable profit. If friends or family of a buyer are interested in the same commodity or service, they can often buy at a lower price by buying in volume. This concept is referred to as group buying. Although the profit on a single commodity decreases for a merchant, the overall profits are increased due to volume. Traditionally, buyers and merchants trade through a group buying service company. ...

Abstract
Assisted reproductive technologies are a combination of medical strategies designed to treat infertility patients. Ideal stimulation treatment has to be individualized, but one of the main challenges which clinicians face in the everyday clinic is how to select the best medical protocol for a patient. This work aims to look for behavior patterns in this kind of treatments, using fuzzy logic models with the objective of helping gynecologists and embryologists to make decisions that could improve the process of in vitro fertilization. For this purpose, a real-world dataset composed of one hundred and twenty-three (123) patients and five hundred and fifty-nine (559) treatments applied in relation to such patients provided by an assisted reproduction clinic, has been used to obtain the fuzzy models. ...

Abstract
The learning process of artificial neural networks is considered as one of the most difficult challenges in machine learning and has attracted many researchers recently. The main difficulty of training a neural network is the nonlinear nature and the unknown best set of main controlling parameters (weights and biases). The main disadvantages of the conventional training algorithms are local optima stagnation and slow convergence speed. This makes stochastic optimization algorithm reliable alternative to alleviate these drawbacks. This work proposes a new training algorithm based on the recently proposed whale optimization algorithm (WOA). ...

Abstract
Commonly used methods in deep learning do not utilise transformations of the residual gradient available at the inputs to update the representation in the dataset. It has been shown that this residual gradient, which can be interpreted as the first-order gradient of the input sensitivity at a particular point, may be used to improve generalisation in feed-forward neural networks, including fully connected and convolutional layers. We explore how these input gradients are related to input perturbations used to generate adversarial examples and how the networks that are trained with this technique are more robust to attacks generated with the fast gradient sign method. ...
