Abstract
This paper proposes a method for designing disturbance observer (DOB) in vibration suppression control of two-inertia system. The key to a vibration suppression control of two-inertia system is eliminating the effect of vibration modes of the plant. For this purpose, feedback controller is designed to cancel the stable vibration modes of plant. However, this cancellation fails due to model error from parameter variations ...

We prove that MDS linear poset-codes satisfy Gilbert-Varshamov bound for their Hamming weights asymptotically. We prove that there exist linear poset-codes with large weights for both poset-metrics and Hamming metrics, as well. ...

Abstract
In recent years, marketing researchers have become increasingly interested in under- and overreporting. However, there are few suitable approaches to operationalize deviations from the truth, particularly in behavioral domains in which self-reports are usually the only viable method of choice to measure behavior or attitudes. An especially difficult situation arises if some people underreport while others overreport. This article proposes a Bayesian item response theory model to quantify under- and overreporting in surveys. ...

Abstract
A cystoscope is an invaluable tool for bladder cancer surveillance and lower urinary tract pathology diagnosis. The performance of cystoscopy can be improved by automating the procedure to ensure rapid and complete inspection, having a predicted pathway for imaging. This paper proposes a versatile, wire-driven, multisegment mechanism for steering an imaging probe to follow optimal, preprogrammed scan trajectories. A novel flexible imaging probe scanning fiber endoscope (SFE) of 1.2 mm in diameter generates high-quality reflectance or fluorescent images. A 3-D panoramic reconstruction view of the bladder is generated by custom software to confirm comprehensive surveillance and improve clinical efficiency. ...

Abstract
Electric power systems can display a range of undesirable dynamic phenomena by which acceptable, stable operation may be lost. Quasi-steady-state operational problems such as the voltage instability phenomena are among these. Ill-conditioning of the power flow, reflected in high sensitivity of bus voltage magnitudes to load variation is an often observed precursor to such quasi-steady state operational problems. ...

Abstract
Two new phenylspirodrimane derivatives, stachybotrysin (1) and stachybotrylactone B (2), were isolated from the cultures of the marine-derived fungus Stachybotrys sp. KCB13F013. The structures were determined by analyzing the spectroscopic data (1D and 2D NMR and MS) and chemical transformation, including the modified Mosher’s method and single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. Compound 1 exhibited an inhibitory effect on osteoclast differentiation in bone marrow macrophage cells via suppressing the RANKL-induced activation of p-ERK, p-JNK, p-p38, c-Fos, and NFATc1. ...

The development of rapid molecular diagnostic assays for pyrazinamide (PZA) resistance is considered technically challenging as mutations are highly diverse, scattered along the full length of the pncA gene and not all are associated with PZA resistance. We evaluated the performance of the novel Genoscholar PZA-TB II line probe assay (PZA-LPA2; NIPRO Corporation, Japan). ...

Abstract
Despite the prevalence of sustainability discourses across the Global North, for the majority of people abstract issues of sustainability often have a low salience with the realities of travel choices. Researchers examining sustainable tourism recognise that any changes resulting in sustainable performance are likely to come about as a result of shifts in everyday highly routinised social practices, relations and socio-technical structures. ...

Abstract
Prior evidence on the association between internal control deficiencies and audit fees pertains to public companies. In this study, I investigate the association between internal control deficiencies identified in initial public offering (IPO) audits and audit fees, as well as which factors drive the association. I find that IPO firms with internal control deficiencies regarding pre-IPO financial reporting are likely to pay higher IPO audit fees, which suggests that auditors adjust audit fees for the increased internal control risk. ...

There is an ongoing debate as to what extent antimicrobial resistance (AMR) can be transmitted from animals to humans via the consumption of animal products. Because epidemiological data on the role of diet in AMR in humans are lacking, we investigated this association between diet and AMR for different antimicrobial drugs in Escherichia coli (E. coli) in urinary tract infections (UTIs). ...

Prior research has suggested that information technology (IT) project managers (PMs) often fail to take adequate steps to manage project risks and that this may contribute to the high failure rate associated with IT projects. Knowing when to pay attention to the trees versus the forest may play an important role in IT project risk management. ...
