A generalized space-vector-based spread spectrum modulation scheme for multilevel inverters is proposed in this paper. Basu (1997) proposes a measure of financial reporting conservatism based on asymmetry in the conditional earnings/returns relation. Patatoukas and Thomas (2011) show upward bias in this measure, because a placebo—lagged earnings—also exhibits similar asymmetry. A dynamic model of a 100 MW solid oxide fuel cell-gas turbine hybrid system has been developed and subjected to perturbations in diurnal ambient temperature and pressure as well as load sheds. The dynamic system responses monitored were the fuel cell electrolyte temperature, gas turbine shaft speed, turbine inlet temperature, and compressor surge. Using a control strategy that primarily focuses on holding fuel cell electrolyte temperature constant and secondarily on maintaining gas turbine shaft speed, safe operation was found to occur for expected ambient pressure variation ranges and for ambient temperature variations up to 28 K when tested nonsimultaneously. ... The root locus is an important tool for analyzing the stability and time constants of linear finite-dimensional systems as a parameter, often the gain, is varied. However, many systems are modelled by partial differential equations or delay equations. These systems evolve on an infinite-dimensional space and their transfer functions are not rational. In this study, we compared the bioNexia test (bioMérieux, Marcy-l'ةtoile, France), a new immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 in urine, with the BinaxNOW urinary antigen test (Alere, Waltham, Massachusetts, USA). After 15 min of incubation (in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions), the sensitivities and specificities were, respectively, 76.5% and 97.2% for the bioNexia test and 87.1% and 100% for the BinaxNOW test. Natural convection heat transfer from an array of horizontal rectangular fins on a vertical flat plate in non-Newtonian power-law fluids has been studied. The underlying physical principles affecting heat transfer were studied using comprehensive solutions obtained from numerical investigations.
